I have now left Rio after spending an amazing month there. With both of my kidneys untouched,
I am proud to report Brazil was yet again another great experience on
this world tour. I was scared to come here and I have done what I
wanted: leave with more confidence in my ability to handle hostile
situations.
Rio has it all: mountains and ocean, awesome weather, a big population and yet it also has nice people. It's peculiar in many ways. For instance, because the favelas are built on the mountain slopes, poor people have a better view than the rich. The only thing I have to complain about is public transportation - and I'm sure the olympics and the world cup are going to make things much better very soon.
Brazil, a place I'll need to visit again. I have this crazy feeling the country is pretty much what China isn't: dormant and might awaken to something big. We'll see in a few decades. It is, after all, a country of passion and faith.
That's another chapter ending. I still have one thing to post about some experience in Brazil, but it will come later. Tchau!
